About Us

Dorough & Dorough, LLC was formed in 1998 by David and Kathy Dorough to provide real estate related legal services. Clients include some of the most successful builders and developers of planned communities and condominium projects in the Atlanta area.

David N. Dorough, Jr., is a graduate of Auburn University and received his juris doctor degree cum laude from Georgia State University in 1986. He is actively involved in numerous professional associations including the State Bar of Georgia, the American Bar Association, and the Atlanta Bar Association. David has served on the Investments Committee of the State Bar of Georgia, the Community Associations Committee and the Limited Liability Company Committee and the ProBono Committee of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of the ABA, the drafting committee for the Georgia Nonprofit Corporation Code and is a past Chair of the Real Estate Section of the Atlanta Bar Association. David practices primarily in the area of commercial real estate law.

Kathy Dorough

Kathy Dorough

Kathy K. Dorough is a 1986 graduate of the University of Georgia School of Law. She is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the DeKalb County Bar Association and the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers. Kathy began her legal career as a judicial clerk in the State Court of Fulton County. She later served as a senior staff attorney at the Georgia Court of Appeals. She is a graduate of Leadership DeKalb and is the editor of Georgia Commons, a Publication of Community Associations Institute of Georgia, Inc. and has published numerous articles in that magazine. In addition to her practice at the firm, Kathy has served as a Magistrate Court Judge in DeKalb County since 1997. Kathy practices primarily in the area of community associations law.

Lisa Crawford

Lisa A. Crawford is a 1994 graduate of Georgia State University and a 1999 graduate of the Georgia State University College of Law. She is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers and the DeKalb County Bar Association, where she served on the Professional Development Committee. Lisa currently serves on the City of Decatur Greenspace Commission. Lisa has been with Dorough & Dorough, LLC since 1999 and she practices primarily in the areas of commercial real estate law and condominium law, where she focuses on preparation of documents to establish condominium, residential, commercial, townhome, mixed-use and master planned communities.

G. Lanier Coulter, Jr.

G. Lanier Coulter, Jr. is a 1998 graduate of Oglethorpe University and a 2001 graduate of Emory University School of Law, where he was the recipient of the Attorneys’ Title Guaranty Fund Award. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and the DeKalb County Bar Association. Lanier currently serves on the Education Committee for the Georgia Chapter of the Community Association Institute. Lanier practices primarily in the area of community associations law where he assists associations with negotiation, financing and execution of renovation and rehabilitation projects, covenant enforcement and collection of assessments.

Michael E. Leavey

Michael E. Leavey is a graduate of Georgia State University and a 2003 graduate of the University of Georgia School of Law. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, where he currently serves on the Ethics and Professionalism Committee of the Young Lawyers Division, the American Bar Association and the DeKalb County Bar Association. Michael practices in the areas of commercial real estate law, condominium law and community associations law, where he represents both developers and community associations on a broad range of issues, including preparation, review and revision of community association governing documentation.

Rachel E. Conrad is a 2000 graduate of Emory University and graduated cum laude from Georgia State University College of Law in 2005. She is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and the DeKalb County Bar Association. Rachel practices primarily in the areas of commercial real estate law, condominium law and community associations law.

Ronit Hoffer

Ronit Hoffer

Ronit Hoffer is a 1994 graduate of the University of Michigan and a 2003 graduate of Emory University School of Law. Her previous experience includes the representation of Fulton County and Georgia Department of Transportation in eminent domain cases. She is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the DeKalb County Bar Association and the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers. Ronit practices primarily in the area of commercial real estate law and community associations law.

She is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the DeKalb County Bar Association and the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers. Mary Beth practices primarily in the areas of condominium law and community associations law.
