G. Lanier Coulter, Jr. becomes a partner at Dorough & Dorough, LLC

Dorough & Dorough, LLC is pleased to announce that G. Lanier Coulter, Jr. has become at partner at the firm. Lanier is a 2001 graduate of Emory University School of Law, where he was the recipient of the Attorneys' Title Guaranty Fund Award. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the Atlanta Bar Association and the DeKalb County Bar Association. Lanier joined the firm in 2002 where he practices primarily in the area of community association law: assisting community associations in interpretation and enforcement of their governing documents and in the negotiation, financing and execution of major renovation and rehabilitation projects.
Lisa A. Crawford appointed to the City of Decatur Greenspace Commission

In May, 2004, Lisa A. Crawford was appointed by the City of Decatur Commission to serve on the City of Decatur Greenspace Commission. The Greenspace Commission is an advisory and advocacy group for greenspace protection and enhancement in the City of Decatur. It is responsible for developing and implementing a greenspace preservation strategy for the City of Decatur and advising the City Commission on greenspace-related issues.
Kathy K. Dorough joins the Board of Directors of the Georgia Chapter of the Community Associations Institute

Kathy K. Dorough was recently elected to the Board of Directors of the Georgia Chapter of the Community Associations Institute where she serves as secretary of that organization. Attorneys at Dorough & Dorough, LLC actively participate in the Georgia Chapter of the Community Associations Institute: Mary Beth Breeden serves on the newly established "green" committee, G. Lanier Coulter, Jr. serves on the continuing education committee, and Michael E. Leavey serves on the newsletter committee.

Dorough & Dorough, LLC is certified as a Continuing Education School by the Georgia Real Estate Commission. We have offered continuing education courses for community association managers and attorneys on such wide ranging topics as: "A Walk Through of the Georgia Nonprofit Corporation Code," "Dealing With Difficult People," "Problem Solving for Planned Communities," and "Condominium Law."

Lisa A. Crawford will teach a portion of the Lorman Seminar entitled, "Issues Concerning the Development, Creation and Operating of an Office Condominium in Georgia" on March 5, 2008 at the Holiday Inn Select Atlanta – Perimeter/Dunwoody. Lisa will be discussing formation issues concerning the office condominium and specifically on the preparation and filing of the Declaration of Condominium pursuant to the Georgia Condominium Act and the preparation of condominium plats and condominium floor plans meeting the requirements of the Georgia Condominium Act.
